How we work with clients:
GABE Company's approach is based on an integrative model that balances the mind, body, spirit and emotions. A system in integrity is powerful and has capacity beyond the sum of its parts. We use language, conceptual (Mind) and experiential (Body) learning formats to increase our ability to respond to life (Spirit-Purpose) with authenticity, creativity and passion (Emotions.). We have found that you can have good performance if you are concentrating on one or some of these elements, but optimal performance shows up when all of them are in balance.
The Domains of High Performance:
- Mind:
- The mind is a most powerful resource. It is the grand organizer of attention. In the domain of the mind we are interested in the perceptions, beliefs and attitudes that inform our actions. With practice we increase the level of awareness to align our actions with our values and goals. The value of action is dictated by the value of perception and how language is used to define it. It is the ability to quiet the mind and bring awareness to the moment that is essential to developing an integrated approach to life, the ability to operate with maximum effectiveness and take appropriate and powerful action.
- Body:
- We do not make a split between the body and mind, but view the relationship as a unified expression of all that we think, feel, perceive, and express. Every change in the physiological state affects the mental-emotional state as every change in the mental-emotional state affects the physiological state. When we embody our ideas and opinions we become more powerful and influential. The coherence between what we think, say and do show up as integrity; integrity is a source of self-reliance and trust. Embodied leadership invites respect and commitment. In addition, to achieve optimal performance it is important to also take healthy care of our bodies by getting sufficient rest, movement and nutrition.
- Purpose/Spirit(Team Cohesion):
- A purpose gives a human being meaning. It is an expression of ones spirit. We talk about an esprit de corps, which is “the spirit of the team”. This occurs when our purpose is shared and we are aligned in fulfilling our commitments. A purpose is a genuinely held intention that shapes how we act. Great achievement means staying true to purpose in the face of fear and threat. Focusing on purpose accelerates value by orienting around what you are for; it also builds trust and respect.
- Emotions:
- Human beings by definition have feelings. It is these feelings that inform us about our likes and dislikes. Emotion lets us know what we care about and what we are afraid of. How we feel about ourselves, our self-esteem and our moods, are a predispositions for action. Emotional intelligence provides us the capacity to make choices in the face of our fears and reactions. We become less impulsive and demonstrate greater self-control and have a the ability to take the action that supports our desires.
We typically create a training design in the following manner:
- Conduct an assessment of the team and customer's feedback and concerns through personal interviews and questionnaires.
- Design a program to address the interpersonal dynamics of the team, management, and operational needs of the business.
- Conduct an impactful, relevant and results-based teambuilding program, leadership development process that can include onsite and off site meetings.
Most programs are preceded by a brief participant questionnaire in order to get feedback from the entire group attending. It is a tool for creating the possibility for inclusion while preparing the attendees to participate fully.
